Whiskey Richard Rocks NYE @ GLL

The only thing that separates a good time from a bad time is a great band. Thankfully, our opening act of the evening delivered with some great original music and popular covers. Whiskey Richard and The Shindiggers, a band that we’ve hosted here before at The GhostLight Lounge during our DownTown Live Bike Night, revisited our stage for the biggest (and final) night of the year. Band members Colt Rickard, Dustin Fuqua, Logan Howard, Aaron Ray, and Jarrett Davis all showed out to create a night to remember.

After Whiskey Richard delivered a great kickoff to the evening, NYE festivities carried on without a hitch. (if you don’t count the bathroom door that was broken down) DJ Up Vibe carried on the party in The Turley, attracting the crowd of partygoers as our signature GLL Karaoke continued on as it always does. Some say that GhostLight Karaoke could endure the test of time, much like the song “Picture” by Sheryl Crow and Kid Rock, which was sang not once, but twice in our evening.

It wouldn’t be NYE without a ball drop, and the GhostLight did just that. As the clock struck midnight, our little light up ball descended from the ceiling in a majestic fashion as our two frontmen from Whiskey Richard were singing karaoke tunes. Not long afterward, our fearless leader here at GLL decided to smack the ball out of the air as if it were a pinata at a child’s birthday party. She then decided to smash it into smithereens. We sure hope we won’t be needing that for anything else.
